- Cleaning and starting on riveting the stiffeners
I did
not get in the garage till late today so only managed 1.5 hours,
but it was a significant step forward.
The
first picture shows the work carried out yesterday, the next
pictures show the tools of trade

Acetone (decided to use this instead of MEK)
|
Everything had a clean with the Acetone to get rid of grease and
dirt. The rivets had a dip in it as well !

Then
the mess starts. The stiffeners are back riveted on after
smearing glupe down the mating surface of the stiffener. It
oozes out every where. Once the rivets are set then a
healthy dollop of glupe goes on each head and a fillet all the way
around the stiffener. Acetone is use to clean up the heads
and any spills. Frankly it looks a right mess, but as long
as it doesn't leak I guess it doesn't matter.

Then I cleaned everything up
.... real work was beckoning! |
